Job Responsibilities

United Technologies Electronic Controls (UTEC) designs, develops, and manufactures control and control panel solutions for the HVAC, refrigeration, and related markets globally. UTEC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to be based in Huntington, IN.

The available opportunity is a critical and comprehensive role within the control panel engineering group. UTEC is a fast-paced and growing business. We are looking for a self-directed contributor and team player to help us achieve and exceed product and business growth targets while driving improved quality and customer satisfaction.

Details of the job responsibilities include:

• Work as a member of a design team to develop electrical panels for the HVACR industry from concept through production.

• Ability to utilize mechanical engineering principals to solve problems related to power electronics and control panel development issues.

• Utilization of PTC Creo to create models and perform analysis of power electronics systems as well as HVACR control panels.

• Support of sustaining products including quality improvements, cost reductions, component obsolescence, and failure analysis

• Evaluation and approval of components to meet requirements for availability, performance, and cost.

• Evaluation of failures to determine root cause and corrective actions.

• Travel to customer sites to support product concept generation and support pre-production builds.

Level of Responsibility:

• Experience using PTC Creo or similar CAD modeling packages required

• Familiarity with electromechanical enclosures and control panel development highly desirable

• Familiarity with electromechanical devices (motors, breakers, relays, etc) beneficial

• Familiarity with Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning systems highly beneficial

• Familiarity with NEMA, IP, and ANSI standards beneficial

Education:

Typical Educational Requirements:

• BA/BS degree ME/MET w/0-4+ years experience
