The candidate will be responsible for project management of cost improvement activities across Residential Business Unit. In this role, the candidate will work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Supply Chain and Quality functions to develop multi-year Cost Improvement strategy Roadmap and ensure Cost Improvement projects and plans are managed, communicated, supported and tracked utilizing project management techniques.

The candidate will have responsibility for the following in addition to adhoc assignments as needed.

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with diverse audiences including but not limited to; senior leadership, cross functional team members (Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Quality) and suppliers

  • Responsible for efficiently utilizing Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Business Unit resources to support the planning and implementation of Cost Improvement projects and activities

  • Manage the on-time delivery and clearly define deliverables of significant Cost Improvement projects.

  • Cost Improvement Plan Development and Support – weekly project and plant meetings, project prioritization, commodity manager strategizing, monitor resource needs, process improvement

  • Lead early idea generation/future project identification events to ensure a pipeline of significant ideas and capital investment visibility

  • Collaborate across Business Unit to develop annual Residential Cost Improvement plan

  • Accountable for project budget, staffing and/or business/operational/quality results

  • Align and manage resource allocation across various Cost Improvement projects, including shared resource constraints

  • Identify and help clear organizational barriers impeding teams’ ability to successfully meet project goals

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for entire projects with significant scope and complexity

  • Contributes to the team or department by applying advanced knowledge of one or more functional areas

  • May develop and coach others

  • Provides cross-functional guidance and expertise

  • Has expert knowledge that extends across multiple disciplines

Qualification:

  • Program Management certifications will be given strong consideration.

  • Excellent communication skills are required as this position will interact with diverse stakeholders across the Business Unit

  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration

  • Strong influencing, negotiation and facilitation skills

  • Ability to operate from a big picture business perspective while still managing the project details.

  • Performance management experience

  • A familiarity with HVAC products and Carrier products is desired

  • Competency with MS Project preferred

  • Report to supervision, conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards

  • Attend scheduled EH&S training events

  • Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans

Education:

The ideal candidate will possess an Engineering degree with practical experience as follows.

  • BA/BS degree with 6 to 10 plus years of experience

  • MA/MS degree with 4 to 7 plus years of experience

  • PhD degree with 2 to 4 plus years of experience
