N2 is currently seeking a highly skilled, experienced and motivated Program Manager to join our team working in a hands-on, collaborative environment. This position offers a challenging opportunity to manage the design, development, and production of cutting edge low SWAP-C vision systems. Working with a multi-disciplinary engineering and operations team, the successful applicant will manage the design, implementation and testing of military and commercial-based systems to accomplish program schedule, technical, and cost goals. The selected individual must accept ownership of the program while satisfying the needs and concerns of all stake holders.

The successful applicant for this position is a highly motivated, high energy, technically-skilled Program Manager. The selected candidate will function as the manager of multiple development programs, working with our customers and the N2 and UTAS organizations to ensure that program execution exceeds the expectations of our internal and external customers. Our Program Managers help identify and foster new organic business opportunities for product upgrades and application of new product technology. Additional responsibilities include continued development and execution of our imaging systems strategy.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities often evolve based on the latest needs of the customer and the technical direction of the development team, so the candidate must be flexible and willing to take on new challenges as they arise. General job responsibilities for this position include:

  • Manage and guide assigned programs through all phases of the program management process in accordance with UTAS Program Management Standards including the use of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) to guide program activity.

  • Lead assigned programs in a consistent process to meet program contracted tasks and deliveries, staying knowledgeable of contract scope and managing the contract change process.

  • Drive program financial performance to ensure program goals are achieved on-time and on-budget.

  • Manage program technical performance to ensure successful development of cutting-edge imaging and vision equipment that exceeds our customer’s expectations

  • Lead and provide oversight of customer and internal management technical and business reviews

  • Lead the preparation of technical, business and cost proposals for current programs, and support Business Development activities in capturing opportunities in related products and programs

  • Support the use of the UTAS Lean system (ACE) to drive process improvements and improved efficiencies across the business, including the continued development of standard work for program management group processes

  • Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals

Qualification:

  • A minimum of 10+ years’ experience leading engineering and/or manufacturing teams or as a business functional manager

  • Minimum 3+ years as a US DOD government contract Program Manager with direct customer interface experience

  • Must have strong leadership abilities, interpersonal skills, and be team oriented

  • Skilled at conflict resolution, risk management and guiding the resolution of competing technical/schedule/cost priorities

  • Previous experience and knowledge of the Earned Value management methodology

  • Excellent verbal and written communication required to support the completion of customer and management technical and business presentations, proposals and reports

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Candidate should have the ability to apply for and obtain a US Government DoD Security Clearance

  • Internal UTAS high potential and LDR candidates encouraged to apply.

  • US Citizenship required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering, Physical Science, or Business

  • PMP or similar project management certifications not required but are a plus

  • MBA a plus
