As part of the Midwest Region’s senior leadership team, the Associate Director, Finance will have the ability to influence the strategic vision and direction of the region. The successful candidate will report directly to Regional Executive General Manager and have a strong functional, dotted, reporting line to the Vice President of Finance for Otis Americas. This key role has supervisory responsibilities for a team composed of a Finance Manager and a Financial Analyst.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for strategic direction for systems, projects, programs, and other evaluations of financial functions as request by the Regional Vice President, Midwest Region and Vice President of Finance, Otis Americas

  • Serve as principal liaison, implementing and providing guidance to senior management, branch management, and financial staff on company financial policies and procedures

  • Lead evaluation and development of annual operation plan for the business and oversee planning for all branch entities within the region, applying finance and accounting standards to the business

  • Interpret finance reports, research accounting issues, and provide monthly variance analyses in order to provide accurate and timely materials for monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews and presentations to senior leadership within the region, Otis Americas and Headquarters

  • Conduct finance reviews and ad-hoc analysis for all branch offices, participate in periodic branch audits to ensure compliance with standards and corporate policies, respond to questions and requests for information on financial results and forecasts

  • Recommend and implement change that is designed to achieve business results. Ensuring that ACE (continuous improvement) programs are maintained in accordance with established standards, policies and sound business practices

  • Provide leadership in the development of an effective organization and its members. Ensure timely and complete feedback provided to all associates which enables them to improve their overall performance and contribution to the Company

  • Responsible for the performance of other tasks related to this position as they are assigned by management

  • Provide leadership that facilitates accomplishment of UTC's Diversity Objectives by ensuring support systems and practices are in place to provide all employees the opportunity to contribute to their full potential by identifying and eliminating the obstacles and barriers that prevent this from occurring

  • In all areas of responsibility, the incumbent is responsible for providing full compliance with the UTC Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government and the UTC Code of Ethics, which include ensuring subordinate staff are aware of the policies and that their responsibilities and actions comply and support these policies

  • In all areas of responsibility which have a direct impact on the health and safety of employees and the environment, assure that appropriate safeguards are in place and that the UTC EH&S Policies and Procedures are fully supported and implemented

Qualification:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in finance positions of increasing responsibility with experience leading change and implementing process improvement. Previous senior finance experience in a $300M+ business and/or previous management leadership experience is highly preferred

  • Strong business sense, demonstrated analytical thinking ability, strong organization & process management skills, and effective communication skills that enable customer & cross-functional interaction

  • Effective communication / presentation skills required with ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization, influencing senior leadership team as well as dispersed branch leaders for desired results

  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required and ability to work both independently and on a team environment

  • Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work with large amounts of data and manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced setting

  • Travel is necessary

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required

  • Master’s/MBA degree and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
