Responsibilities

The Business Unit Shop Floor Controller is responsible for all material planning activities in relation to the assigned business units. Oversee material kitting in support of assembly floor need, working closely with the on-campus Forward Stocking Location (FSL)and remote warehouses.

  • Utilize ACE/Lean principles to establish world-class Materials Flow/Synchronization within the value stream.

  • Support shortage management process

  • Coordinate materials/logistics issues

  • Coordinate with Engine and Module Assembly to ensure parts are available when needed

  • Schedule Optimization – Utilizing APO, build and maintain an optimized business unit manufacturing schedule.

  • Capacity / Lead-Time Improvements - Find opportunities for capacity and lead-time improvements on business unit parts.

  • Participate in making allocation/priority decisions on critical hardware

  • Utilize/operate Andon system in support of assembly floor requirements

  • Support efforts to drive cost & lead time reductions. You will work closely with engineering, quality & industrial management to ensure assembly and test requirements are fully supported.

  • Starts Management - Ensure schedules are met through the on-time starting of material planning.

  • Supplier Delivery Assurance - Work with the supply base that supports the IBR product family to ensure the on time delivery of hardware

To be successful in this position, you should have the following experience:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management or Business Management

  • 3 years materials planning experience

  • US Citizen due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership qualities

  • Have good analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

  • SAP experience, APO and XRM

  • Knowledge of ACE principles
