Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) is seeking a talented and dedicated design engineer with creativity, drive and a desire to see their ideas become a reality. We have an opening for an engineer to design, redesign and provide technical support of compressor parts. Candidate will have an opportunity to work on Fan, Low and High compressor components including cases, rotors, blades, variable vanes and actuation systems. Our Engineering team provides technical support for all phases of the product's life cycle, covering a wide variety of commercial and military products.
Design analysis of turbojet hardware includes:
• Performing tolerance stack-ups
• Checking fits and clearances
• Hand calculations for torque, loads and stresses (bearing, bending, shear)
• Unigraphics (UG) proficiency required
• ANSYS experience is a plus, but not required.
Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney processes (Engineering Change, Design/CCB Review, IENs), procedures, repair/inspection manuals, and MS Office applications are pluses.
As a Mechanical Design engineer in compression systems you will have the opportunity to get involved with a variety of tasks supporting both commercial and military customers. Duties may include the following:
• Evaluating non-conforming material for acceptability to engineering requirements
• Incorporating engineering changes, modifying and evaluating components to improve production cost, durability, weight and performance
• Creating and substantiating the design of newly developed components
Do you meet these Basic Qualifications?
You're in an accredited four year degree program and are entering or currently in your last year.
You are graduating by Summer 2020
You have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
How about any of these Preferred Qualifications?
Entry-level Co-op/internship experience
Extraordinary interpersonal skills and proven track record of collaboration, adaptability, innovation and initiative
You demonstrate good analytical, organizational, and communication skills
