Job Description:

The F135 Fan CIPT seeks a goal-oriented, detail-focused manufacturing engineer to work as the Fan Module Production Lead. We are looking for an experienced engineer who will be responsible for delivery coordination (quality issue resolution), producibility improvements, quality improvements and cost reduction initiatives on all fan hardware. This position requires proven leadership, six sigma knowledge and experience, excellent communication skills, and well-rounded general project and manufacturing engineering skills.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • You will coordinate and direct CIPT/IPT resources to enable on-time hardware delivery

  • You will prepare and present task status and technical content to the CIPT and Cold Section Engineering & Operations Management

  • You perform risk assessments and develop / manage risk mitigation plans

  • You lead and execute War On Cost initiatives

  • You plan strategic Class 1 & 2 engineering changes for part producibility and cost reduction

  • You coordinate evaluation and disposition of quality non-conformances (QNs) and supplier requests for information (SRI’s)

  • You provide strategic direction for systems, projects, and programs to maximize efficiency of manufacturing and delivering products including internal and external manufacturing sources

  • You analyze information and evaluate results to recommend best solutions based on data

  • You establish critical control points in the value stream to ensure that products meet financial planning, quality standards, and customer demand rates

  • You create strategy to manage and control long-term process yield of fan hardware

  • You review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.

  • You provide cross-functional guidance and expertise between the Engineering & Operations teams

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering

  • Minimum 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience

  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government program requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing experience in process flow and capacity management

  • Six Sigma Black Belts preferred

  • Able to understand production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information in manufacturing

  • Demonstrated leadership with the ability to work in a fast pace environment

  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven root cause solving capability

  • Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems

  • Demonstrated follow-through and project management skills

  • Proficiency with Teamcenter a plus
