Job Description and Responsibilities:

As a P&W MT-CT Product Delivery Center (PDC) Material Review Engineer (MRE) in Middletown, CT, your job responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

  1. You review and provide final engineering technical disposition of quality notifications (QNs) issued by or to the Product Delivery Center relating to production operations.

  2. You coordinate technical resolution of documented non-conformances on Military and Commercial/Industrial engine parts through interaction with Module/Part Center Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs) and Part Family Engineering Leaders.

  3. You attend / participate in Product Delivery Center Manufacturing Corrective Action Board (MCAB) Reviews to provide input / data to support corrective action identification and implementation

  4. You will complete or have completed all formal / OJT MRE Certification Training Requirements as outlined in the MRE-Certification Program to include Material Review Board (MRB) "Quality Member" Requirements

  5. You provide robust assembly engineering certified-MRE coverage & assistance to production operations (assembly floor & test area via QRC Crib QN dispositions) to ensure that engine delivery issues related to production assembly engineering are resolved and delivery commitments are met

  6. You have flexibility to provide coverage to production operations based on alternate shifts & work week schedules is extremely important in this position NOTE: This is a high-visibility position that requires frequent interaction with the Product Delivery Center Management / Leadership Team to coordinate issue resolutions.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering/appropriate technical discipline with 15 or more years of experience in Design Engineering or equivalent. Exceptions to the requirements require the review and approval of Chief, Mechanical Design and MRB Discipline Chief approval.

  • Minimum 5+ years technical engineering experience.

  • US citizenship is required due to govenment program requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Component / part design experience preferred.

  • Knowledge / experience as a certified MRE in the following areas is a strong plus in this position:

  • Quality Member / Material Review Board (MRB) roles & responsibilities

  • Understanding of MRB requirements and procedures

  • MRB engineering member training records

  • Product quality requirements(as-delivered to customers)

  • Extensive working knowledge of engineering drawings / requirements

  • Working knowledge of P&W Quality Notification (QN) reviews and dispositions

  • NDT/Visual non-conformance disposition expertise

  • Experience with control & segregation requirements for non-conforming material

  • Familiarization with records accuracy & completeness (including data codes)

  • Ability to facilitate inadequate cause and corrective action resolutions

  • Familiarization with QRO/QRIR/MRB archived records (to include MRB/Military Customer interactions)

  • Familiarization with rework versus accept disposition risk assessments

  • Familiarization with final dispositions & re-submit codes

Education:
