Are you passionate about growing as a Mechanical Design Engineer? We have a rare new opportunity for you within our Measurement Systems Engineering in Middletown, CT.

Your job responsibilities will include:

  • Performing conceptual through detail mechanical design of gas turbine instrumentation hardware

  • Instrumentation mechanical design encompassing all validation engine programs

  • Design activity will center on fundamental design analysis and basic strength/sizing of aerodynamic probes, proximity, vibration, rotor speed, optical instrumentation, telemetry systems, egress provisions and engine hardware interface details

  • Collaboration with various component centers and suppliers for requirement definition, access, mounting, installation detail and fabrication support

  • Working in accordance with test vehicle assembly achievements

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering design experience in the development of gas turbine engines

  • The ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret level security clearance

Preferred Qualification:

  • Advanced degree

  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical design principals

  • Experience performing work scope estimation, performance of detailed design calculation, modeling, drafting and concept presentation at formal engineering design reviews

  • 3D electronic modeling and drafting

  • Experience modeling in Unigraphics NX / Siemens NX

  • FEA experience

  • Current U.S. Government Secret level security clearance

  • Excellent MS Office skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
