  • The Measurement Systems Engineering organization is seeking a mechanical design engineer to perform conceptual through detail design of gas turbine instrumentation.

  • Responsible for instrumentation design support encompassing all validation engine programs.

  • Design activity will center on fundamental design analysis and basic strength/sizing of aerodynamic probes, proximity, vibration, rotor speed, optical instrumentation, telemetry systems, egress provisions and hardware interface. Instrumentation designers also coordinate with various component centers and suppliers for requirement definition, access, mounting, installation detail and fabrication support.

  • You will work in accordance with test vehicle assembly milestones.

Qualification:

Required Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 1+ years of mechanical engineering design experience in the development of gas turbine engines with design work scope estimation, performance of detailed design calculation, modeling, drafting and concept presentation at formal engineering design reviews

  • US Citizen, due to Government contracts

  • Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Key skills include 3d electronic modeling and drafting, FEA experience, MS Office proficiency, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
