The Compression Systems (CS) Supplier Quality Engineer will provide support to the CS Module Center (CSMC) and Global Supply Chain organization relative to improvement of suppliers' Quality, as well as providing Quality interface, expertise and support to Suppliers.

Major job responsibilities include (while not limited to):

  • Understand key aspects of handling and assuring supplier Quality to support and achieve best-in-class supplier quality, delivery and service, while act as primary Quality Engineer on a limited number of suppliers

  • Maintain key relationships with suppliers Quality and Operations Management teams, as well as PW Engineering and Procurement teams

  • Collect/Compile data and drive Continuous Improvement initiatives at the supplier in reaction to escapes, and in support of reduced cost and lead-time

  • Require suppliers to find root cause and implement corrective / preventive action on all escapes and high pain recurring quality issues

  • Coordinate quality issues with PW Engineering and Supplier Engineering on supplier-designed components

  • Support Vendor Corrective Action Board (VCAB) reviews

  • Perform CSMC Shop/Supplier Clinic Coordinator function for investigations

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Engineering, Technical, Quality)

  • 7+ years of experience in Quality, Engineering and/or Manufacturing, to include experience with MRB/Material Review Board

Preferred Qualifications:

  • You are highly motivated and a self-starter with a strong dream to succeed and pursue continued growth and developmental opportunities

  • You are able to demonstrate ability and willingness to own quality performance metrics and drive the world-class quality culture

  • You can request data from part prints/specifications, and then process that data into meaningful information on process capability

  • You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and can work effectively with associates at all levels throughout the organization

  • You have above average computer skills and proficiency in Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Project

  • Practical ACE/Six Sigma experience a plus

  • Experience with SAP and other IT Quality system is a plus

  • Understanding of ASQR-01 / AS910 is a plus
