Job Title

Det-Tronics is searching for a Field Service Representative to join our team! The Field Service Representative is centered on the delivery of billable technical services for commissioning, troubleshooting and training of Det-Tronics products and configured systems at industrial sites including petrochemical and US military facilities. This position requires a candidate who is technically proficient, while also having the ability to sell at the operational level.

RESPONSIBILITIES HIGHLIGHTS

  • Inspection, alignment/calibration, testing and commissioning of fire and gas detection devices and configured systems

  • Troubleshooting & diagnostic testing of devices and systems for root cause analysis or faults, system configuration and operating logic changes

  • Performance of acceptance fire testing for authorities having jurisdiction

  • Assistance in proper application, installation, configuration, diagnosis and troubleshooting of customer’s detection devices and systems

  • Preparation and delivery of field-credible training to customers and channel partners

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Solid understanding of basic electronics technology, industrial process controls, and digital communications

  • Minimum of two years vocational or military training

  • Engineering degree preferred

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with industrial fire protection/suppression and flammable/toxic gas detection systems used in petrochemical, oil/gas production facilities

  • Competency in working with personal computers, programming software, and electronics test equipment, such as multi-meters and scope meters

  • Knowledge of applicable national fire protection codes and standards, design documentation and accepted industry practices

  • Ability to work independently, cooperatively and respectfully with others, while performing under pressure

  • Organized with the ability to drive and execute projects through to completion

  • Excellent written and verbal skills, and good indirect selling capabilities

  • Passion for change and continuous improvement

  • Ability to travel globally on short notice and to work overtime, when necessary

  • Ability to lift 60 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Eligible for Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) certification card, Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) Offshore certification, and US military base access approval
