Det-Tronics is searching someone who is not afraid of adventure. We are looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team! In this role, you will be centered on the delivery of billable technical services for commissioning, troubleshooting and training of Det-Tronics products and configured systems at industrial sites including petrochemical and US military facilities. This position requires a candidate who is technically proficient, willing to travel, and focused on customer satisfaction. .

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Independently work on complex fire and gas safety systems installed at industrial global worksites

  • Inspect, configure, align/calibrate, test and commission detection devices and systems

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using root cause analysis and specialized software

  • Conduct fire performance testing and complete related test/inspection reports

  • Travel to global worksites, including offshore platforms, sometimes on short-notice

  • Adhere to compliance and safety guidelines when representing the company brand

  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with and internal stakeholders

  • Prepare work-related customer documents and reports in a timely manner

  • Organize and provide training to customers and channel partners on request

Qualification:

Required:

  • 2+ years of technical experience with complex electrical-mechanical products and equipment

  • Willing to travel extensively to domestic, international and offshore petrochemical and military worksites on short-notice in order to meet business needs

  • Ability to work independently as well as work cooperatively with cross-functional global teams

  • Excellent written, verbal skills, and a passion for continuous improvement

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Capability to perform in a fast-paced and changing environment in order to meet deadlines, including working some weekends and/or overtime

  • Strong organization and time management

  • Ability to obtain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card

  • Eligible to obtain a Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) Offshore certification

  • Due to the military locations, the candidates must hold 2 valid forms of federal IDs that are compliant with the Real ID Act and must pass security clearance needed to enter various military bases

  • Ability to lift 60 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge with industrial fire protection and suppression systems

  • Experience with PLC/Modbus programming software

  • Understanding of Process Automation and Control systems

  • Familiarity and enthusiasm to deliver technical training sessions to stakeholders

Education:

  • Associate's Degree or U.S. military training in electronics technology, industrial process controls, digital communications or equivalent degree with extensive applicable experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or similar major preferred
