Collins Aerospace seeks an intern with experience and interest in 3D printing. The intern will gain exciting real-world engineering experience at a thriving company. We frequently work in small teams to solve problems, explore new technologies, and learn from one another. The ideal intern for this environment will be enthusiastic, passionate and collaborative.
Examples of the types of project work that may be supported by this role include:
Using CAD software to develop an array of models that will support the operation shops, supply chain, engineering projects, etc.
Fine tuning the printer to create optimal prints
Maintain the rig through regular maintenance measures by working with facilities to identify those needs
The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of CAD Modeling, experience with 3D printers, engineering fundamentals and will have good interpersonal communication and teaming skills, good technical writing skills, and display the following character traits: passion for learning, creativity, and self-motivated.
Develop CAD Models
Maintain the large 3D printer
Research new methods and ideas for fine tuning the printer
Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in any Engineering discipline
Excellent analytical and mathematics skills
Experience with CAD programming
