Pratt & Whitney's North Berwick Engineering Center, located in beautiful Southern Maine, is currently seeking a talented and dedicated Mechanical Design Engineer with the creativity, drive, and desire to see their ideas become a reality. This Project engineering position provides the opportunity to work on the full PW engine product line, including the next generation of commercial and military engines. Hardware responsibilities include components found in the compressor, turbine, and bearing compartments. The ideal candidate will have strong fundamental engineering analysis skills and a hands-on understanding of manufacturing processes. Significant interaction with internal and external customers is expected; excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Typical responsibilities will include: - Project management responsibility for design configuration, including cost, weight, and producibility requirements. - Participation on, or leading, multidisciplinary teams to develop and produce new hardware. - Advance gas turbine technology and mechanical design methods. - Support design reviews and execute Engineering Standard Work. - Provide production, field investigation, and aftermarket technical support.
Do you meet these Basic Qualifications?
U.S. citizenship or Green Card is required for this position. due to government contracts .
You're in an accredited four year degree program and are entering or currently in your last year.
Fields of study are: Pursuing a BS in Engineering
You are graduating in Dec 2019 or May 2020
You have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
How about any of these Preferred Qualifications?
0-1+ years’ experience in a program environment related to hardware design and development.
Preferred candidates will have a good understanding of manufacturing processes, aerospace design methods and procedures, and continuous improvement tools.
