Co-Op student needed to support the software and applications engineering teams. The candidate will be assigned tasks that will challenge them to apply their classroom knowledge in our working environment. Tasks that could be assigned range from PC tool development, embedded software design, coding and troubleshooting. Candidates will be exposed to the software development lifecycle used to ensure safety critical software for aerospace applications.

Possible Software Projects:

  • Monitor data acquisition box connection: develop tools/scripts to collect data and detect known signatures of issues, reported for specific applications

  • State Machine Configuration Tool – Create a pictures to code tool to generate configuration files based on requirements written by engineering staff

  • Aircraft Simulator for bench testing products. Simulate “real world” aircraft environment 1.Includes log converters 2.Playback of data logs through test environment

Qualification:

  • The desired candidate shall be a self-motivated, process oriented individual with strong problem solving skills

  • The candidate should have experience programming in a high level language such as C, C++, C# etc.

  • The candidate should have an understanding of software development methodologies

  • Familiarity with UML design tools, XML and Python a plus

  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, etc.)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Self-motivated to prioritize work, strong problem solving skills, learn new applications/hands on work and achieve result

Education:

Candidate should be working towards a BS in a software, computer, or electrical engineering discipline. Candidate should be in 3rd or 4th year of degree program. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
