SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Executive Director Supply Chain, as the Sr Manager, Procurement, you will provide leadership to the Oakville Landing Systems Supply Chain team. In this role, you will set priorities, manage and coordinate all aspects of the procurement process, including parts and assemblies from internal as well as external suppliers in alignment with production and shipping schedules. Manages procurement activities needed to ensure on-time delivery of parts to meet customer expectations and to optimize inventory. In collaboration with the Strategic Sourcing function, develop and execute material management strategies to achieve the objectives of the business. Develop and monitor KPI's within Procurement in support of Landing Systems goals and objectives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide procurement leadership in a fast paced, matrix environment to ensure expectations are met relative to delivery, quality, cost and inventory targets

  • Develop and implement standard work and digitial tools to drive efficiencies in the processes

  • Provides direction, manages and develops staff of direct and dotted line reports. Responsible for performance management process.

  • Develop departmental budgets and ensure adherence to set budgets

  • Drive the standardization and compliance to procurement processes across multiple sites in support of meeting various program expectations

  • Oversee day-to-day placement of purchase orders in support of manufacturing build schedule in SAP

  • Provide input to Strategic Sourcing function regarding supplier selection and qualification. Co-lead work transfer process.

  • Review of supplier performance on-time delivery performance and take necessary steps to improve, as required, in concert with corporate policies and procedures. Provide and drive escalation paths for supplier performance issues. Manage 3rd party suppliers providing on site delivery assurance support.

  • Responsible for defining and implementing inventory strategies for internal operations and external supplier inventories at the local level to achieve best-in-class inventory position and achieving inventory turn targets while maintaining on-time delivery performance.

  • Develop and manage Procurement key performance metrics

  • Drives continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to maximize team performance.

  • Responsible for material master updates and other systems maintenance within tactical purchasing

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related discipline and 8 years of releveant experience or an Advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.

  • Certification in Supply Chain preferred (APICS/PMAC)

  • Experience in the processes of Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP)

  • Minimum relevant work experience in a global manufacturing or aerospace company

  • Working knowledge of inventory control analysis techniques and management thereof

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to effectively interact at various levels within an organization

  • Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with Lean manufacturing systems or Six Sigma

  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting and financial analysis

  • Intimate knowledge of ERP configuration, manufacturing processes and systems; SAP preferred

  • Strong computer skills to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office

  • Experience managing managers and professionals. Ability to drive teamwork between groups and cross functional teams

  • Strategic planning/thinking skills, coupled with analytical and execution skills

  • Demonstrated experience and success working in a fast paced, matrix environment satisfying multiple customers
