Basic Function

You will lead all core commodities management activities for assigned commodity. Develop key strategies, standards and plans for core commodity management as it applies to Carrier’s strategic direction and business needs. Assess industry directions and standards, achieving maximum cost-effectiveness and flexibility across Carrier globally.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • You will help to develop and maintain a strategic partnership and use the supply base to meet the company’s procurement requirements related to quality, delivery and cost

  • Negotiates and awards purchase orders/contract of new product launch and existing production requirements.

  • Monitors quality, cost and delivery performance for assigned commodities

  • Help to establishes and lead key supplier performance goals and objectives; communicates periodic results to plan and manager top-level continuous improvement; develops keen awareness of industry performance benchmarks

  • You will negotiate supply agreements in support of overall supply management

  • Handle internal CCS transfer pricing agreements and commercial performance of Carlyle Compressor division and CCS sites sourcing compressors

  • Responsible for new product introduction activities, including but not limited to, request for quote, materials readiness, and supply chain integrity

  • You will be responsible for supplier selection on a commodity basis and work with the buyers to implement these sourcing decisions

  • Uses professional concepts to help in the development of company concepts and principles and to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways

Qualification:

  • Professional presence and ability to communicate across all levels of the organization

  • Excited to work on complex problems where analysis of situations and data requires an evaluation of intangible variables

  • Ability to exercise independent discernment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

  • Ability to excel in a dynamic environment

Education:

  • BA/BS in Materials Management or related field with 10+ years’ experience

  • Prefer Master’s Degree or MBA with 7+ years’ experience
