Primary Responsibilities:

  • Promptly addressing any material issues that arise while the unit is in process, including but not limited to non-conforming material, bad stock balances, etc.

  • Creating a production schedule based on capacity and material availability

  • Releasing work to the shop floor to support the production schedule

  • Production Planners play an integral role in the interface with a 3PL (Third Party Logistics location) in regard to kitting of hardware and inventory issues/reconciliation.

  • Production Planners serve as primary focal between operations and supply sites to expedite hardware required to support timely rework of in process units. Additional responsibilities (as part of the team) include items such as:

  • Aged work order reduction,

  • Inventory reconciliation activities,

  • Have the ability to coordinate activities through multiple organizations

  • Communicate effectively with peers, internal stakeholders and other organizations to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Be detail oriented and have a strong attention to detail

  • Be self-directed and close on tasks in a timely manner as assigned

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience required, Supply Chain or Business Administration major preferred

  • CPIM/CIRM a plus

Experience/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work with all levels of management

  • Knowledge of materials strategies, lean manufacturing system design and shop floor management execution

  • Operations/Materials experience in manufacturing environment

  • Experience with inventory reconciliation and/or cycle counting (physical inventories)

  • Planning/production scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Continuous improvement experience – process improvement of planning

  • Aged work order reduction

  • Inventory reconciliation activities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly motivated individual who enjoys operating in a dynamic environment and who enjoys the challenges of process improvement and “lean” manufacturing initiatives.

  • Success working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with the ability to adapt to changing business conditions.

  • Candidates should be highly self-directed and able to learn quickly with a strong ability to drive and deliver results.

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles (e.g. lean manufacturing, RRCA, etc)
