Get onboard the UTC Aerospace Operations and Supply Chain team and play a part in managing our innovative products from inception to delivery. Operations and Supply Chain employees have the opportunity to network across our businesses and functions, all while improving the productivity, quality and efficiency of our operations worldwide.

Production Planners are responsible for creating a capacity-based production schedule and releasing work to assembly in support of on time releases/starts.

Primary Responsibility:

  • Promptly addressing any material issues that arise while the unit is in process, including but not limited to non-conforming material, bad stock balances, etc.

  • Production Planners play an integral role in the interface with a 3PL (Third Party Logistics location) in regard to kitting of hardware and inventory issues/reconciliation.

  • Production Planners serve as primary focal between operations and supply sites to expedite hardware required to support timely rework of in process units.

Additional responsibilities (as part of the team) include items such as:

  • Aged work order reduction,

  • inventory reduction and reconciliation activities,

  • continuous improvement events, as well as development and maintenance of planning standard work.

  • This function interfaces daily with multiple internal work groups (i.e. assembly/test, contracts, quality, engineering, program office, etc).

Qualification:

Minimum 3 years planning and/or materials experience required ; manufacturing, electronics or aerospace environment preferred.

  • Knowledge that extends across multiple disciplines

  • Team and / or Project Leadership experience

  • Able to coach and develop others

  • Experience with Lean and ACE / Continuous Improvement

  • Knowledge of material management systems

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Ability to work well in a team culture

  • SAP materials system experience a plus

  • Excellent communication and customer service

  • Excellent presentation and group facilitation skills

Education:

BA/BS degree required , Supply Chain or Business Administration major preferred

MA/MS degree a plus

CPIM/CIRM a plus
