  • Should support international trade compliance regulations, policies, procedures, training, audit programs and UTC/UTAS corporate initiatives for the Aftermarket Division.

  • This role reports to the Customs & Imports Manager.

  • The individual will be required to heighten UTAS compliance, among others, in the areas of Country of Origin, Valuation, Import Classification, Assists Declarations, Civil Aircraft, US Goods Returns, Manufacturer’s Affidavits, Free Trade Agreements, Policies, Procedures, Freight Forwarding Management, AES filings, metrics, self-assessments, audits, training on export compliance topics, investigations and prepare draft documents on potential disclosures and prior-disclosures, etc.

  • The individual will provide support on multiple International Trade Compliance matters for Exports and Imports including but not limited to CPM20 and CPM20A.

  • Serve as an onsite subject matter expert for ITC.

  • Conduct periodic compliance training and answer day-to-day compliance questions.

  • Review business practices, draft or improve ITC procedures, and develop instructional guidelines (particular emphasis on handling controlled technical data in an environment with foreign nationals).

  • Provide Visitor Management oversight and Foreign Person visitor approval for the site.

  • AES oversight for multiple U.S. sites; interact with site shipping personnel to ensure accurate AES filings.

  • Provide guidance to site functional teams regarding visitor management, technology marking, technology transmission methods, reporting and other administrative requirements for export compliance.

  • Assist compliance investigations, disclosures, and audits including remediation activities and corrective action implementation. • Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions where appropriate.

  • Interact with engineers, product managers, buyers and procurement analysts to obtain information necessary to classify imported parts, components and products.

  • Use the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States and apply the General Rules of Interpretation (GRI’s), Section and Chapter Notes and Explanatory Notes to assign HTS classifications.

  • Support monthly and quarterly SBU reporting on site activity. Participate in Enterprise-level Council and sub-council committees.

  • Assist in developing responses to CBPF28 Requests for Information and coordinate with ITC Central to file with CBP

  • Knowledge of GTS/ACE reporting as a source for monthly export and AES metrics.

  • Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification:

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ITAR (Intl Traffics and Arms Regulations)

  • Knowledge of Export Administration Regulations (EAR)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Technology/Software related to the Aerospace industry.

Education:

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree w/4–7+ years’ experience or Master's degree w/2–5+ years’ experience from an accredited Institution,

Preferred Education:

  • Certification in lean manufacturing.

  • Customs Brokers Licensed.
