We are seeking a high energy, talented Human Resources Generalist to help drive and support HR initiatives for the Lenel (Pittsford, NY) and Interlogix (Costa Mesa, CA) businesses. Primary areas of responsibility include: talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance programs, talent development, data analytics, policy compliance and general administration. This position will report to the HR Director for Security Products, North America. The successful candidate will be responsible for overall day-to-day HR administration of approximately 350 employees (local and remote) and will closely partner with the HR team and business leaders on strategic HR initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In partnership with the HR Director, implement strategies that increase employee engagement and retention

  • Support recruitment efforts with a focus on identifying in diverse talent and developing next level

  • Manage university and community relations and actively lead the internship and co-op program year-round

  • Act as a liaison for benefits & payroll with centralized functions, including annual enrollment and leave administration processes

  • Complete timely investigations, prepare documentation and make appropriate recommendations

  • Manage the separation process, conduct exit interviews, analyze trends and provide feedback to leadership

  • Conduct compensation and job code/grade level analysis and propose recommendations based on performance, potential, risk and market data

  • Guide managers and employees through the performance management process, facilitating career development and employee improvement discussions

  • Compile, analyze and report Human Resources metrics, respond to ad hoc data analysis requests and provide information in an accurate, timely fashion

  • Identify and drive HR process improvement initiatives through the UTC quality methodology

  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, standards, and applicable government laws and regulations

  • Maintain employee personnel files, electronic data and other employee information in a confidential manner and in compliance with applicable policies, laws and records retention schedule

  • Provide timely communication to employees and management on new initiatives, processes and events

Qualification:

  • Demonstrates discretion, able to work with sensitive and confidential materials and possess good business judgment

  • Proven ability to deal with conflict and diffuse difficult situations

  • Ability to prioritize and change direction as needed

  • Results-oriented with strong communication skills (verbal and written) and customer focus

  • Motivated self-starter with a strong enthusiasm to learn and passion for speed and agility

  • Excellent follow-up and attention to detail

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and Outlook and ability to learn new technologies

Education:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management or related field from an accredited University with hands-on experience in the HR function in a manufacturing. A graduate degree in Labor Relations, Human Resources or Business is highly desirable

  • BA/BS degree with 2-4 years’ relevant HR experience

  • MA/MS degree with 0-2 years’ relevant HR experience
