The ISRSS Rockford, IL facility is currently seeking a highly motivated, high energy, experienced Director of Programs and Business Development. The leader who holds this position will be responsible for program execution of our program management team, increasing bottom-line performance through best-in-class program performance and increasing top line performance by driving organic growth.

  • Serve as the leadership interface between ISRS-Rockford and our external customers.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the Program Managers, as direct reports.

  • Develop and ensure adoption of processes that support program goals and business needs

  • Manage and guide programs through all phases of the program management process in accordance with UTC Aerospace Systems ACE and Program Management System Standards including management by Earned Value and a philosophy of continuous improvement

  • Program financial performance to ensure site and business unit goals are met or exceeded

  • Oversee program technical performance to ensure that program objectives are well understood and that programs actively manage risks

  • Lead and provide oversight of customer and management technical and business reviews

  • Lead the preparation of technical, business and cost proposals for current programs, and support Business Development activities in capturing opportunities related to current products and programs.

  • Provide leadership assuring that necessary program reviews are in place for compliance to customer requirements: coordinate/facilitate management reviews and support leadership team meetings.

  • Manage all aspects of associates’ activity as to provide growth and foster development and motivation.

  • Prepare and manage manpower and budget plans to achieve optimum results.

  • Work with management to ensure that a quality culture is prevalent while promoting problem resolution activities that support the customer as well as the producer.

  • Provide Programs support and maintain a strong working relationship with other functional disciplines.

  • Leadership of cost-reduction activities.

  • Manage compliance with government, industry, and import/export regulations as required.

Qualification:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading engineering, program management or manufacturing teams or as a business unit manager

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry

  • Five (5) years as an Aerospace and Defense Program Manager with direct customer interface experience and skilled at conflict resolution and technical program resolution.

  • Key skills include business development knowledge, a strong business sense, technical background and familiarity with technical product development

  • Excellent verbal and written communication to support the completion of customer and management technical and business presentations, proposals, and reports.

  • Assist in leading group process improvements using our UTC continuous improvement system (ACE), including the continued development of standard work for program management group processes.

  • Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans, must comply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements.

Due to federal government contracts US Citizenship is required and candidate should have the ability to apply for and obtain a US Government DoD Security Clearance.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree

MBA or advance degree highly preferred
