Role Overview

This position is for a recognized Design Engineering expert and thought leader. Serves as an expert resource, solves problems in various engineering fields, coordinates with other organizations, communicates with other engineering personnel and stakeholders, and resolves complex design problems.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for design and analysis task execution for one or more pump programs, including driving development activities on-schedule and within budget, while ensuring all technical and regulatory requirements are met.

Candidate must have significant experience leading product root cause investigations, as design engineering plays a key role in solving any product issues during the development process. This also includes evaluating empirical data to validate design tools and reconcile pump design/analysis results with test data.

Candidate will also assist Engineering Management with developing and executing technology roadmaps and strategic pump product initiatives, as well as helping lead technology readiness level progression programs as required.

Candidate must excel at communication both in verbal and written formats, with the ability to adapt communication for a wide range of audiences including internal and external customers. This includes the ability to mentor less experienced engineers.


  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 12 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience.

  • In the absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Extensive Experience with fuel and oil pump design, analysis, and development experience with a variety of pumping element types inclusive of external gear, internal gear, piston, vane, and centrifugal.

  • Candidate should also have strong manufacturing knowledge and demonstrated leadership in developing cost effective and robust pumping solutions to customer’s needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering in preferred.

  • Aircraft system knowledge with fuel and oil delivery systems and familiarity with aerospace industry design, test and certification standards for aerospace pumping systems is desired but not absolutely required.

  • MATLAB modeling and programming experience and CFD analysis experience in ANSYS Fluent or STAR-CCM+ are also desired capabilities.

  • The desired career path for the successful candidate must be technical rather than management with an eye towards Fellowship.
