We are looking for a Business Development Manager for the ISR-Space, Defense Programs (ISR-S) Business unit located in Rockford, ILL..

The primary responsibilities will be to plan and execute business development strategies, tactics, pursuit and capture activities capitalizing on other extreme environment products from within our ISR-Space and UTC Aerospace Systems portfolio. Work with members of the ISR-S Defense Programs team to develop winning strategies, creative technical solutions that add value to the customer and provide discriminators. Lead tactical business pursuits and prepare capture plans as well as following through in all aspects of their execution. Identify and develop customers and opportunities, track budgets and timing, establish teaming or other business relationships when called for, and maintain a visible presence in the industry. Must be a self-starter who can work independently to identify and qualify opportunities and build customer relationships. Must also be a team leader who can work effectively with company management and technical resources. Hands-on contributions will include customer and management presentations, white papers, and inputs to technical and business proposals. Must be able to obtain a classified clearance for US government activities.

Qualification:

  • 2-5+ years managing cross functional teams, no direct reports

  • Responsibility for entire systems, projects, programs or operational unit across or within functional areas

  • Accountable for budget, staffing, and/or business/operational results

  • Manages and/or senior individual contributors reporting for inputs

  • Responsible for winning capture development, based on market information, development with others functions the system solution for customer opportunities

  • Support/Responsible for management of internal investments and resources with the small ISR-S Rockford Business Development Team.

  • Travel 25% a few weeks a month

Due to nature of business candidate must be A US Citizen and able to obtain a classified clearance for US government activities

Education:

  • BA/BS Engineering degree or related Technical field w/7+ years experience

  • MA/MS degree w/5+ years experience

  • PhD degree w/4+ years experience
