The Actuation Systems, Regional and Business Jet team is currently seeking a Contracts and Commercial Manager to join our Rockford site leadership team working in a hands-on, collaborative environment. This position requires excellent leadership, influencing and communication skills.

​Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure expedient resolution of customer (internal and external) concerns

  • Develop and manage a contracts strategy to fully support the needs of the business, development programs, and legacy production programs

  • Provide coaching and development to prepare team members for more advanced contracts administration roles

  • Drafts, reviews, negotiates, and achieve timeliness approval of all new contracts, subsequent contract amendments and other contractual documents as required

  • Manage existing contracts to ensure compliance to contract terms, identify and seek commercial adjustment for out of scope changes, and to mitigate risk areas

  • Ensure appropriate flow down of contract requirements and amendments, compliance

  • with international trade regulations, and other UTAS / Contracts Procedures, Policies, and Work Instructions

  • Accuracy and alignment of customer purchase orders and Demand Management (Customer Hardware scheduling and tracking)

  • Support the efforts of the program teams in establishing and securing contractual requirements and ensuring coordination of cross-functional review, input, and approval

  • Assess business risks and proposes plans to mitigate when appropriate

  • Comply with all company procedures and internal approvals and governance requirements and guidelines

  • Participate in the review and negotiation terms and conditions of customer agreements

  • Coordinate demand effort with Program and Operations teams

  • Manage financial and operational impacts to the business

  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the Contracts function

  • Create and ensure adherence to robust standard processes within the Contracts & Commercial team

Qualification:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in a business, legal, or contracts related field

  • Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams

  • Working knowledge of various contract types and US Government export regulations is desired.

  • Proven experience to drive continuous improvement initiatives

Education:

  • BA/BS degree in business management, legal, finance or related field required

  • MBA/JD/MA/MS degree preferred
