Role Overview

General business management with P&L responsibility within Electric Power Systems, a segment of the ES business unit. The incumbent’s responsibilities will generally focus on P&L and customer management for responsible OEM programs. Another area of focus includes multi-function activities including development and production program management.

In this role you will be required to manage multiple programs across various platforms. Responsibilities include managing production deliveries and production growth opportunities in an effort to meet or exceed both company and customer objectives. This includes interacting with internal/external customers and suppliers, driving on time delivery (OTD), leading proposal generation, identifying production growth opportunities, and communicating the policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to the cross-functional team.

As a Director within the Electric Power Systems business unit, you will :

  • Coordinate with Operations and Delivery Assurance in managing production deliveries to meet customer schedule requirements.

  • Establish pricing, negotiate and manage timely submittal of proposals, quotations and contracts.

  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, proactively identify problems and obtain solutions for all field or product improvement issues.

  • Direct the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

  • Represent our company with our customers and manage the program to meet contract requirements, including delivery schedules, cost, and technical specifications.

  • Organize and conduct program status reviews, team meetings, and various other regular business activities.

  • Represent the program with our company senior management, managing and reporting revenue, technical issues, capital expenditure, new business development, and customer satisfaction.

  • Manage all aspects of income and spending, forecasting, cost management, engineering/program spending and departmental budgets for all OEM-related programs.

  • Support business management of the aftermarket and customer service aspects for responsible production programs.

  • Be responsible for assuring that all functional aspects of the group perform in a manner which supports business unit and program/customer commitments, including: Program Management, Finance, Quality, Operations, Business Development, Engineering, and Contracts.

  • Have other managers and/or senior individual contributors reporting in.

  • Has responsibility for entire systems, projects, programs within the responsible business segment.

  • Accountable for budget, staffing, and/or business/operational results.

Qualification:

  • BA/BS degree with 10+ years’ experience.

  • MA/MS degree with 7+ years’ experience.

  • PhD degree with 4+ years’ experience.

  • Ability to manage all customer interfaces and resolve customer satisfaction issues with diverse customers related to the business group.

  • Strong and effective communication skills, ability to balance competing priorities and a high level of self-motivation and engagement are critical to success.

  • Must be able to lead within a matrix organization to achieve business goals and deliver on customer commitments.

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, an advanced degree is preferred.
