We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to become a part of the Test Equipment section of Electric Power Systems Power Conversion and Distribution product group. This section is responsible for design, development, build and maintenance of test facilities to support the ES Software, Systems and Power Conversion & Distribution organizations for commercial and military aircraft. The test equipment ranges in complexity from simple manually controlled hardware to automated test equipment and labs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with internal customers and the team to forge a cohesive vision for delivering test equipment

  • Write desktop instructions and documentation to share knowledge

  • Adapt to the needs of multiple different internal customers

  • Promote a positive culture by modeling four gears behavior

  • Work closely with section lead and other team members to develop test strategies

  • Design and develop flexible test equipment that takes into consideration current and future business needs for Electric Systems Power Distribution testing

  • Model ethical behavior and safety consciousness in all situations

  • Design and develop test equipment that takes into consideration all EH&S needs

  • Evaluate safety compliance of all test setups

  • Communicate with program and product engineers to guarantee accurate definition of product requirements and test plans

  • Create and maintain capital test equipment/facilities to provide timely and cost effective test capabilities

  • Create electrical designs that are 'build-to-print', procure necessary equipment, oversee the build of test setups and perform/oversee checkout of setup

  • Verify, document and maintain all hardware included in test setups

  • Effectively collaborate with any in-house factory labor disciplines and domestic & foreign outsourced labor

  • Work with team members and other engineering disciplines to integrate test setups with products

  • Maintain budget and schedule to support product test requirements for development and qualification

  • Drive continuous improvements in customer satisfaction and workforce productivity using ACE principles

  • Demonstrate consistent application of ACE tools (MFA, standard work, QCPC, RRCCA, etc.)

  • Occasional travel to support off-site test setups

  • Assist with lab management duties: participate in monthly EH&S Oversight Committee meetings; ensure EH&S Policy, Cardinal Rules, and requirements are understood; perform regular lab assessments as required by EH&S; perform Safety Test Readiness Reviews (STRR) with EH&S; Support monthly 6S assessments and identify opportunities for improvement

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidate should have strong communication skills (both verbal and written) to establish and maintain strong working relationships across the organization.

  • Familiarity with test requirements and solutions for aerospace or similar products is strongly recommended for this position.

  • Experience in mechanical and software engineering

  • Previous support organization experience is beneficial

  • Supercomputing Architectures

  • Avionic communication buses (ARINC-429, ARINC-664, CAN, etc)

  • Hardware / software integration & troubleshooting

  • Linux and/or Windows System Administration

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of experience
