Electric Systems is looking for an integrated product team leader (IPT) to work with a multi-disciplined, technical team in the design, development, production and field support of emergency power systems (electric and hydraulic ram air turbine systems). The preferred candidate must have a track record of leading teams, project management, mechanical design experience, and strong analytical problem solving skills.
Responsible for managing the program technical performance of a design team
Responsible of project and technical oversight.
Interfacing with management, suppliers, customers, and members of the technical design team
Project planning including budget and schedule reviews and approval with functional design and program management
Supporting customer milestones and deliverables to meet program business plan
Provide timely and effective communication to management and customers
Lead engineering investigations to establish root cause, and implement appropriate corrective actions
Develop update and implement standard work, tools and processes throughout the design, development and qualification program
Lead by example the use of ACE tools and standard work for continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a similar discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a similar discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams
Progression in design, test, and fabrication of mechanical systems
Expertise/experience with technologies related to specifically power systems, generators, pumps, gears, and transmissions
Background and knowledge in structural analysis, 3D design software and engineering drawings
Experience in ACE Tools and/or Design for Six Sigma, particularly DOE is preferred
Experience in utilizing Microsoft Project, Excel, Power Point software
Demonstrated ability to prepare and execute to a program plan
- This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a similar discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a similar discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
