The Quality Engineer performs a specific quality-related function within the company’s quality program as the primary assignment (e.g., quality auditing, training, metrics trending, quality clinic, zero defect planning, nonconforming and corrective action systems). Provide quality assurance support to customers, suppliers, partners and targeted departments of the organization.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years applicable experience in a manufacturing/composite environment.

  • Understands problem solving methods – i.e. 8D, root cause analysis (RRCA), continuous improvement operating systems, etc. – and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems.

  • Quality Clinic investigation team lead.

  • Zero Defect Plan (ZDP).

  • Understanding the concept of Cost of Quality and specifically of the Cost of Non-Conformance.

  • Uses Cost of Quality report to identify opportunities for improvement and waste reduction.

  • Ability to solve problems of typical scope and complexity.

  • Auditing Proficiency; This includes excellent communications skills, and ability to conduct audits (internal and external) effectively, as well as successful corrective action follow-up and successful.

  • Quality Metrics: Understanding of quality data trends towards recommendation and implementation of process improvement and lean manufacturing.

  • Easy familiarity with network based computer systems and: Windows, Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) Statistical Analysis Software (QI Analyst, Minitab, etc.).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead small teams.

  • Good presentation skills.

  • 10% domestic travel required

Preferred:.

  • Designated Representative for FAA 8130-3 Certification desired.

  • AS9100 Internal Auditor Certification desired.

  • Designated Supplier Quality Representative (DSQR) desired.

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

  • Green Belt or Black Belt

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate discipline (Engineering / Manufacturing / Technology / Quality) required.
