Description:

Pratt & Whitney PSD provides the aviation industry with capabilities for specialized repair of gas turbine engine cases and components.

This is a weekend shift opportunity. Days/hours are Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 6 am - 6:30 pm. Overtime opportunity is available.

Responsible for assisting supervision with the non-destructive testing and inspection of all products produced, repaired or submitted for customer use to ensure NDT is completed to the proper specifications and requirements. Position includes conducting Fluorescent Penetrant and Radiographic Inspections of aircraft engine cases in a case repair and overhaul environment. Act as the Site Audit Coordinator, Radiation Safety Officer, and perform other Quality Assurance duties. This incumbent will partner with production, engineering and quality teams to provide technical support and address operational issues ensuring effective communication and long-term problem resolution.

Position Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.):

Provide timely and accurate information regarding NDT inspection techniques and current industry NDT trends.

Provide training and certification as needed for NDT disciplines. Maintain NDT certifications for the employees in each production area as needed or required.

Ensure NDT areas have the necessary supplies to operate efficiently.

Partner with operations to meet and exceed customer’s expectations.

Manage the Corrective Action Request (CAR) System ensuring timely response and follow-up per ISO standard and internal procedure requirements.

Obtain customer feedback information relative to quality defects.

Generate the PSD response to customer inquiries and surveys.

Represent the Quality Assurance Department during customer or registrar audits.

Review process changes to ensure compliance to OEM & customer technical data.

Review, revise, or create PSD internal procedures or manuals for continual improvement of the Quality Management System.

Maintain technical files containing approvals and correspondence.

Serve as the PSD Site Audit Coordinator. Duties include, but are not limited to, creation of the audit schedules, assigning and performance of audits, tracking of assigned audits to ensure completion, and administration of CARS generated from the audits.

Timely and accurate flow of information to the floor to prevent costly mistakes.

Maintain the most recent specifications to prevent costly mistakes.

Responsible for any other projects or activities assigned which are in the best interest of the Company.

Qualification: Basic Qualifications:

  • NDT Level 2 Special Certifications in Fluorescent Penetrant, Radiographic Inspection, and Eddy Current Inspection.

  • 1+ years’ experience as a NDT Level 2

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASNT Level II/previous NAS-410 Certification preferred

  • 2 year technical degree preferred

  • 800 hours in Electromagnetic (Eddy Current) Inspection

  • 400 hrs in Fluorescent Penetrant, 800 hrs in Radiographic Inspection

  • Ability to read and interpret documents.

  • Technical writing of procedures and NDT techniques

  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts.

  • Ability to work well under pressure.

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Good grammar, voice and diction.

  • Excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful)

  • Safe work practices.
