As a Senior Production Leads person, you will be providing assistance to the Unit Manager and Area Supervisor(s) in leading a group of hourly associates. You will be responsible for directing and guiding associates and their daily job assignments for their assigned area. You will also perform all of the duties of a lead person/repairman, plus sit in on coaching and feedback sessions with Area Supervisor(s). You will backfill for supervisors as needed for time off, vacations, leave of absences etc. This position works the schedule based on the assigned line/work area(s), up to ten hours a day with occasional weekend overtime. This role will be assigned as needed based on business needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that company expectations and core values are instilled in the employees that you direct.

  • Advocate the company Ethics & Values

  • Responsible for directing and guiding associates and their daily job assignments for their assigned work area

  • Responsible for overseeing the training and developing of associates, with assignment of trainer to trainees

  • Conduct periodic assessments of associates’ work performance and adherence to following standard work

  • Ensure adherence of the Company policies, procedures and standard work instructions

  • Responsible for compliance with all regulations. Compliance with employee safety policies and procedures

  • Responsible for assuring all associates have proper PPE and entering maintenance orders as necessary

  • Assist Unit Manager and Supervisors in identifying and implementing continuous improvements and consistently striving for efficient and effective methodologies.

  • Foster an environment of teamwork through effective safety issues, including near misses

  • Assist in ACE and quality related actives; have a solid knowledge of quality expectations

  • Responsible for understanding all key manufacturing processes and identifying issues for escalation that impact the line performance

  • Provide feedback and coaching to employees with assistance of Unit Manager and/or Supervisors

  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and understanding the repair needs of the production area

  • Utilize and maintain daily entries in the required databases

  • Act as a fill in Area Supervisor as needed

  • Maintain training log and cross-training matrix for area assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification:

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Must have 3 years’ experience at Carlyle Compressors

  • Strong knowledge of documentation and shop rules (REQ, 5S, SOE’s, etc.)

  • Exceptional communication skills required. Must be able to explain the “why” and “how” for shop practices and basic skills

  • Solid knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of quality concepts and requirements

  • Ability to read and understand all job instruction and safety material

  • Ability to read and interpret production schedule

  • Must possess the desire and ability to learn new skills, i.e. ergonomics, ACE, visual work instructions

  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)

  • Must be able and willing to work a flexible work schedule, i.e. overtime and Saturday production

  • Ability to utilize the tools and equipment for assigned areas

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
