CCS’s Graduate Hire Program provides a hands-on engineering experience in a supported, closely mentored cohort. Associates of the Graduate Hire Program will obtain career development opportunities, exposure to leadership and will develop a strong professional network. The goal of the CCS Graduate Hire Program is to help early career professionals become productive and successful engineers within the one year development program.

Job Description

The Advanced Materials Engineering (AME) team is responsible for development, design and implementation of new materials technology and applications. The AME team is currently seeking an engineer with thermoplastic and thermoset materials education to incorporate plastic materials technologies in our products. Her/his main responsibilities include:

  • Apply knowledge / tools to evaluate and down-select materials.

  • Provide recommendations for design for manufacturing guidelines (injection-molding, thermoforming).

  • Utilize modeling simulation tools (such as mold flow analysis) to optimize design and manufacturability of components.

  • Correlate model outputs through rigorous laboratory test validation.

  • Develop or update standard work procedures / best practices and specifications for continuous improvement of process.

  • Work with Carrier business unit teams, material and molding suppliers to implement technologies.

  • 10% domestic travel possible.

Qualification:

Educational background in the following areas:

  • Thermoplastic and thermoset materials properties and characterization.

  • Experience with FEA structural analysis or injection mold-flow analysis a plus.

  • Familiarity with injection molding or another plastic manufacturing process.

  • Excellent communications skills to provide reports with results / conclusions and presentations to internal and external customers.

Education: BS degree in Polymers/Plastics Engineering or related with at least 3 years of experience or MS degree in Polymers / Plastics Engineering with 0-2 years of experience with a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
