This position provides design support focused on managing brake vibration through all stages of the aircraft wheel and brake product life cycle.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and validate dynamics models (modal analysis, stability assessment, etc.), using ANSYS and other CAE tools

  • Determine the parameters of the dynamics dynamometer test program for development and qual (ie: fixture design/settings, stop parameters, etc.). Provide testing oversight supporting data acquisition and analysis.

  • Maintain tools (instrumentation, macros, scripts, etc) needed for Dynamics support across programs.

  • Provide design recommendations on the basis of models and test results to understand and improve vibration performance and resolve exceedances as required.

  • Develop technology in the area of new CAE tools and experimental methods.

Qualification: Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of related experience OR

  • Master's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Dynamics modeling proficiency (modal analysis and stability assessment) with CAE software platforms (UGNX, ANSYS, etc.). Programming experience.

  • Master of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with focus in structural dynamics preferred

  • reduced order modeling
