Reporting to the Director, Human Resources Landing Systems, as the Human Resources Business Partner, you will be an advocate for both the Company and employees. As a strategic business partner and focal for HR services, you will support overall business goals and functional HR goals. You will also partner with your clients in executing HR activities in the areas of employee/labor relations and engagement, recruitment, talent management, inclusion and diversity, compensation, employee communications, training, organizational development, and HR information systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • With one direct report, incumbent coordinates, develops, and ensures a sound labor relations program, serving as a lead representative pertaining to management's decisions regarding disciplinary actions, promotions, demotions, transfers, separations, layoffs, grievances, contract administration, and other related matters.

  • Provides coaching and assistance to leadership in the appropriate resolution of grievances, in line with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, to ensure consistent and fair treatment of all employees.

  • Administers job posting, bidding, and employee transfer in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

  • Manages the hiring of hourly bargaining and non-bargaining employees.

  • Strategically builds relationships with colleges and universities locally for our apprenticeship program.

  • Provides project support for talent management initiatives, including but not limited to succession planning, performance management, leadership development and training programs.

  • Provide counsel and direction to clients on HR issues, including pro-active identification and resolution of people-related issues including conflict resolution, policy and procedure interpretation, and legal compliance counseling

  • Support organizational development initiatives, including employee/labor relations, performance management, employee communications, talent management, training, and development, etc.

  • Support recruitment function for client group(s)

  • Analyze and provide recommendations on client group compensation and benefits issues

  • Lead and participate in functional, divisional and enterprise-wide HR initiatives

  • Actively engage employees and leaders to build a positive culture.

  • Implement Corporate and Site HR programs.

  • Champion Landing System HR lean activities as required.

  • Actively contributes to EH & S initiatives

  • Perform other duties and participate in projects as assigned by the Director, Human Resources

Qualification: Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of generalist experience.

  • Demonstrated strong employee relations experience.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required

  • General knowledge of employment law (such as the ADA, EEO, ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, etc.) and ability to apply legal concepts to real-world situations.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information

  • Strong team and customer service orientation

  • There is no sponsorship available for this position

  • Ability to travel to support business needs 10 percent – required

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM/HRCI certification

  • 1-3 years’ experience in labor relations.

  • Previous experience working in an environment with Shared Services or Centers of Excellence
