This position is for an experienced Business Development Manager professional with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise. Leads collection of industry data, conducts complex market research, analysis, evaluations and modelling. Compiles complex commercial, financial and technical information, and facilitates development of business intelligence tools and systems to monitor the progress of target business growth. Finalizes reports and prepares presentations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads the collection and analysis of macro economic, industry, and target market information and intelligence on business competitors.

  • Conducts complex market research to aid strategic planning and decision making, focused on product and service development, improvement and elimination considerations.

  • Drives distribution partners to attain business growth objectives through new business wins, LTA commitments and business re-capture.

  • Analyzes the business segment, sales gaps, competition and distribution data to identify short and long-term sales opportunities.

  • Evaluates distributor sales history to determine distributor minimum stocking levels and to help shape distributor inventory to ensure product is available to ship from stock.

  • Maximize on-time delivery by providing liaison between distributors, demand management, production and customer service and account representatives.​

  • Compiles complex commercial, financial and technical information as requested by business development teams.

  • Completes complex modeling and analyses related to market and business intelligence data.

  • Develops control and reporting systems to facilitate the monitoring of target segment business growth and strategic account development.

  • Finalizes the draft reports that are used in consultation with product and service segment leaders regarding market and business intelligence data to provide recommendations and develop strategies.

  • Performs analytics, pricing, and segmentation to develop competitive product / market intelligence related to aftermarket and service contracts.

  • Responsible for aftermarket and service strategy development, strategy modeling, business analytics strategic planning and execution.

Education / Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS Degree in Statistics, Engineering, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred) and 7 years of prior relevant experience or

  • Master's Degree (MBA preferred) and 5 years of prior relevant experience

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience working in an Aviation /Aerospace sales, distribution, demand management or business development role.

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to partners, customers and to individuals at all organizational levels.

  • Business and technical acumen and understanding of financial modeling.

  • Ability to apply critical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.

  • Strong influencing skills in a matrix organization. Ability to act strategically and tactically to support successful project completion.

  • Advanced statistical analysis and research methodologies

  • Distribution experience

  • Aviation sales experience
