Inspect manufactured products, purchased samples, materials and parts, control samples, processes, and/or test data for conformity to blueprints, specifications and standards. Report inspection results and substandard conditions on appropriate forms or computer. Identify product items as “accept” or “reject.” Inform appropriate parties of abnormal situations. When applicable, validate production machines and process setups using first production pieces, setup pieces, shift samples, etc. according to checklists, blueprints, routings and standards. Perform above on an experienced level basis with minimal supervision.
Production Inspection and Functional Testing, Audits, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System Transactions, First Article Inspections (FAI), Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance, Support Development of inspection methods & procedures. Support multiple commodities and/or production lines.
Same project work as Inspector I plus:
Disposition product non-conformance's as approved
Demonstrate detailed understanding & expert proficiency of geometric dimensioning & tolerance as required.
Use proper inspection methods & complex equipment (i.e. complex part setups and inspections, CMM operation & programming)
Identify improvements to methods and procedures.
Complete First Article Inspections (FAI) as required.
Answer quality requirement & inspection questions. Train and mentor others in this task.
Assist Quality Engineering in corrective action follow-up
Assist Engineering in development of inspection methods and procedures
Process Monitor Program, Special process inspections, Customer Source Inspection, Delegated Customer Source Inspection
Same special projects as Inspector I plus:
Train candidate Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Support company goals, Teamwork, Leadership & Training, and Continuous Improvement
Same participation as Inspector I plus:
Train others in quality requirements & inspection tasks
Train other inspectors in complex inspection methods & equipment
Take proactive approach to tasks related to quality activities, initiatives & company goals
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and achieve continuous improvement certification (i.e. ACE Associate).
Other support groups, Customer contact, Customer satisfaction
Same communication as Inspector I plus:
Contact & work with customers to resolve quality issues as required
Train & assist others regarding quality questions & issues
Minimum Education Requirement: High school Diploma or equivalent
2 years of inspection, testing or quality experience
Very detailed oriented preferred
2 to 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
