Specific responsibilities of this role include:

  • The student will be working at our Vergennes, Vermont site on Process Certification (ProCert) and Collins Production Part Approval Process (UPPAP) projects that will reduce variation and improve the quality of products and processes on the production floor.

  • As part of this work, the student will be using Relentless Root Cause Analysis to determine the causes of defects and inefficiencies. There is a possibility of working on business process improvement projects as well.

  • The student candidate will use tools and techniques from Six Sigma, Lean, etc. to analyze and solve problems.

Education / Certifications: Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Economics, or another field with a minor in Mathematics or Statistics from an accredited institution

Experience/Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Economics, or another field with a minor in Mathematics or Statistics from an accredited institution

  • Must have GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Must have completed 30 hours of college coursework

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with and comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience using a Statistics app (for example, Minitab).

  • Training in Statistical Process Control (SPC) or Six Sigma.

  • Programming experience is a plus.

  • Must have completed a college-level probability and/or statistics course
