Responsibilities include:

This is a Repair Design Engineer (RDE) position is with the Cases & Composites Group within the Global Services Engineering (GSE) Commercial repair group. The RDE is responsible for the development of repairs for commercial gas turbine engine parts, and including development of the repair concept, writing of the repair, obtaining internal approvals, obtaining FAA regulatory approval, and coordination with the end user. This position provides a great opportunity to have a tangible effect on P&W’s aftermarket business and impact on P&W’s airline customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • You will lead a multi-discipline team to establish repair design requirements and ensure repairs are safe, durable, and meet the quality requirements of the OEM parts.

  • You will research operating environments and functionality of components, their interactions with mating parts, and develop strategies which will return damaged parts back to service.

  • In this role, you will build technical documents that provide engineering requirements for repairs.

  • You will collaborate with commercial product line management (PLM) to secure priorities and understand programmatic issues.

  • You will work with the Customer in the resolution of field supportability issues.

  • You will ensure repair tasks are completed to schedule and on budget.

  • You will support OCE Legacy program initiatives requiring repair discipline expertise-Serve as Technical Lead on quality and fleet-wide investigations

  • You will mentor junior engineers on the team

The position may require limited travel. (10%)

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing).

  • 7+ years of experience related to engine hardware design and/or repair processes/manufacturing/quality.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Your experience with design of turbine airfoils or compressor airfoils is preferred

  • Your work with unigraphics or comparable modeling skills is very helpful.

  • You have a proven understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.

  • You have demonstrative communication and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Your deep understanding of engine operation and system knowledge is desired.

  • You have solid knowledge of turbine and/or compressor airfoil part design.

Education: BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing).
