The Production Supervisor will directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, such as calibrators, welders, machinists, inspectors, operators, assemblers, etc. The Production Supervisor will plan and prepare manufacturing workforce schedules and departmental workflows to establish sequence and lead time of each production operation to meet plant metrics such as On Time Delivery, Takt Time, Customer Requirements, etc. The Production Supervisor will also analyze team capacity and production data to determine manufacturing processes and required resources as well as prepare production reports.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of people including setting direction, deploying resources, addressing concerns and removing obstacles.

  • Management of employee performance, hiring, corrective coaching, and resource planning.

  • Develop and implement employee training plans within and across manufacturing team.

  • Utilize problem solving techniques, teamwork building strategies, process control, and continuous process improvement tools to meet or exceed the plant metrics.

  • Ensure team compliance to Quality Management System.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and create action items for gap closure.

  • Work with support functions to review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.

  • Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data to meet On Time Delivery, Turn Around Time, Cost of Poor Quality, etc.; answering questions and responding to requests.

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

  • Support and follow all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions as set by leader and position.

  • All other duties as assigned including working extended shifts/overtime as required by the business.

  • Minimal travel required (<10%).

  • Willingness to work nonstandard hours.

  • Some Holiday hours may be required based on business need.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, preferred

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with an ERP and time keeping systems

  • Bachelors degree and 1-year manufacturing or supervisory experience or two years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with no degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General awareness of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

  • General awareness of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

  • Working knowledge machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management.
