Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development including: requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, and product software design, verification & validation. We integrate the control and diagnostic system design across other engine system modules and with the air vehicles and provide support throughout the complete engine product life cycle.
Job responsibilities include a wide range of exciting and challenging activities which involve the application of fundamental engineering principles in the analysis of engine system operating requirements and the development of engine control and diagnostic systems. Candidates should have successfully demonstrated analytical and mathematical modeling skills to solve complex control, diagnostic and/or software system problems and the ability to work at the implementation level.
This product development activity requires strong integration and analysis skills in a variety of control system, diagnostic system and/or software disciplines, such as:
Systems Engineering & Integration
Classical Control Design
Multivariable & Optimal Control Design
Verification & Validation
Dynamic System Modeling (actuators, sensors, propulsion system)
Dynamic Stability Analysis
Statistical Data Analysis / Signal Processing
Engine Health Management
As a member of a dynamic engineering organization, these positions offer the candidate an excellent opportunity to apply multidisciplinary engineering skills in the development of complex engine control and diagnostic systems and software.
The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary/multi-project team environment focused on developing and certifying mission critical embedded systems.
BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Computer Engineering. Candidates with relevant experience and candidates with co-op or intern experience are preferred. Minimum GPA of 3/0 required.
