A Flight Test Engineer is needed to support the NGPF PW1200G Compliance efforts on-site in Moses Lake, Washington . The Flight Test Engineer is responsible for identifying and coordinating requirements for the successful completion of Compliance Flight Testing at the customer site in Moses Lake, Washington. In this position, you will represent Pratt & Whitney as you interface directly with the customer on-site.
Planning for engine maintenance, engine configuration upgrades, instrumentation installation, support for aircraft deployments and borescope inspections.
Technical support for test briefings, control room qualification for real time test monitoring and test reviews to ensure engine safety and customer schedule needs.
Lead key tasks assigned by the on-site manager / lead FTE to ensure clear moving forward plans are established and maintained for the Compliance Engine Fleet.
Encourage and follow flight safety protocols.
Provide TM coverage as needed. Monitor engine test for health and safety and operation within defined limits. Advise TM test director of engine health and recommendations for test conduct as needed.
Assist in troubleshooting flight squawks, and ground test operations, as required.
Coordinate potential hardware replacement and maintain part life records.
Conduct and assist in engine inspections as needed.
Coordinate and drive engine maintenance activities as needed.
Maintain engine configuration awareness & documentation as required.
Drive to meet customer requirements and prevent any delay, while maintaining highest quality of work.
There is 10% travel associated with this role.
Candidate will initially be hired into CT or WPB then transferred to Moses Lake after on-boarding is completed.
Degree and 5+ years of experience that includes test engineering OR Masters’/Advanced Degree and 3+ years of experience that includes test engineering.
Previous experience & training in engine ground test or flight test operations preferred.
Ability to interact with various groups within P&W and the customer.
Familiarity with the in-house processes for coordination memos, flight test letters, etc.
Good understanding of installed turbofan mechanical systems hardware and general maintenance / test processes and practices as well as flight test instrumentation
Ability to comprehend various assembly/repair and test processes, procedures & engineering documentation.
Ability to interpret technical drawings.
Ability to work modified shift schedule & weekend work as required based on Customer schedules.
