As part of the Sensors & Integrated Systems (SIS) team, you'll help support the development of the next generation of more intelligent, more integrated and more reliable solutions that enhance aircraft safety and performance in the most rigorous flight conditions. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating all aspects of the Inventory cost accounting portion of month-end closing journal entries and reconciliation of related balance sheet accounts.

  • Coordinating all aspects of the Sales accounting portion of month-end closing journal entries and reconciliation of related balance sheet accounts (FOB, DFAS accruals and Wall the dock).

  • Coordinating all aspects of the Plant Productivity reports (Earned Hours, Efficiency, Utilization, Manufacturing Cost, Headcount, and YoY Productivity Savings) for the daily report, month-end closing, Forecast, and Plan.

  • Support the Business Development Team on new products and quotes.

  • Support the Financial Operations Manager in the Sales Forecasting process

  • Support the Financial Operations Manager on the P&L forecasting process by Site, Segment and by Product line.

  • Partner with the Financial Operations Manager to oversee monthly financial reporting as well as inventory valuations and physical inventory reconciliations.

  • Prepare, analyze and interpret reports on Inventory Standards(Annual and Non-Annual, PPV - Periodic review / analysis during month (at least weekly), Inventory scorecard reporting, SRR review / reporting, Labor Rates, Overhead Rates, Material Rates, Overhead Analysis, Work order variance, Analysis of returns for warranty, repair, etc. (contra inventory), key metrics and potentially low movement and obsolete inventory.

  • Collaborate with financial operations managers to generate reliable cost data to establish accurate standard product costs including labor and overhead absorption.

  • Manage cycle counts of inventory at Wilson, NC manufacturing facility, 3rd party contract manufacturers, and third-party logistics provider to ensure that internal controls are functioning as designed.

  • Support cost improvement initiatives with Operations, Purchasing, and Supply Chain, analyzing various alternatives and implementing new systems as appropriate.

  • Identify and drive enhancements to current costing methodology and processes in order to improve business analysis.

  • Key contact for annual audit and quarterly reviews.

  • Coordinate and monitor audit deliverables and audit progress.

  • Perform analysis of actual manufacturing spending and review of appropriate and accurate manufacturing accruals in accordance with US GAAP / SOX compliance|

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment with an emphasis on cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ERP systems experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • A continuous improvement mentality with the capacity and energy to drive change throughout the company.

  • Curiosity and willingness to learn all aspects of the Fire Protection Systems functional areas by walking the manufacturing floor and interacting with all levels of employees.

  • 5 years accounting or financial analysis experience.

  • Ability to communicate clearly at all levels within organization. Strong intrapersonal skills and problem-solving skills required.

  • Team player able to build cross-functional relationships to drive business results.

  • Service focused with a sense of urgency to both internal personnel and external customers.

  • Experience in manufacturing industry a plus.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Results focused and ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong systems skills (HFM, EXCEL/Access)

  • SAP experience helpful but not required
