United Technologies Corporation Aerospace Systems (UTAS) is a global supplier of technologically advanced aerospace products and systems. We design and manufacture aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate, and military aircraft and are a major supplier for defense, surveillance, and space programs.

The Cost Management and Transitions role involves establishing operational plans that meet business objectives in a global setting with primary focus on supplier cost reduction and headwind mitigation. The transition associate’s role is to effectively execute pre-determined projects while adhering to established part transition standard work. Transition associate’s success is measured to meeting each project plan. This position interacts closely with Supply Chain Management Commodity Teams, Business Units, Suppliers, and United Technologies Aerospace Systems in country teams (Regional Offices). This job will primarily focus on transitioning machined components and assemblies from domestic U.S. suppliers to various geographical locations (both domestic and international).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional departments of Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Contracts, and Program Management.

  • Lead weekly project status meetings with key suppliers, monitor successful completion of tasks to ensure timely resolution of issues, develop and execute risk mitigation plans, and champion supplier development and growth opportunities.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Excellent data management skills are required including an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP) is preferred.

  • A general understanding of Aerospace drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes is strongly preferred.

  • Must have strong communication skills and be detail-oriented and results driven.

  • Candidate must be comfortable in providing project updates to all levels of the organization.

  • Approximately 10% travel is required, both domestic and international.

  • Must be willing to support teleconferences during off-hours due to time zone differences with suppliers in region as well.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required. An Engineering, Supply Chain or Operations concentration preferred.

  • Supply Chain or Program Management Professional Certification is highly desirable.
