The official name of the space suit used to maintain the ISS is Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU).

Collins is seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join us as A Project Engineer. You will need to combine project management skills with detailed technical intellect to lead Integrated Product Development Team projects that maintain and equip space suits for tours on the International Space Station (ISS), and support ground training of astronauts for Extra-Vehicular Activities (EVAs) commonly known as spacewalks. This is an opportunity to work with a team of brilliant engineers working passionately to develop and maintain the world’s most advanced operational life support systems.

Engineering Process Assistant (EPA) will provide continuous support of our Naval and Space Programs. You will have the opportunity to work with in an IPD frame work supporting the IPD teams consisting of Systems Engineering, Test Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Design, Supplier Quality, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Planners, and Purchasing to drive delivery of these products within the approved budget and schedule. The EPA will report directly to the Program Engineering Manager, and will play a critical role in driving process execution while meeting both internal and external customer expectations.

As an EPA you will be immersed in the following activities:

•Coordinating setting team meeting agendas, documenting team decisions and actions, and driving action item closures

•Coordination and driving closure of engineering change activities

•Supporting failure investigation activities including fault tree generation and maintenance and driving action closures.

•Input export classifications for the program(s). With the potential of becoming an export classification focal.

•This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to work as cross-functional team member.

•Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

•Natural presence/comfortable presenting to internal customers.

•Ability to bring team members together and work problems to resolution.

•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

•Support management of engineering bill of materials, drawing generation planning and status and verification planning and status.

•Participate in contract proposals, including BOE and BOM estimates and proposal coordination.

•Support Program Planning and Control by obtains project step status to aid in Earned Value calculations.

•US Citizen.

As an EPA you require the following skill:

•Excellent Excel skills including pivot table knowledge. Visual Basic is a plus

•Familiarity with MS Project

•Excellent PowerPoint skills

•Database experience.

Education and Certifications:

•Associates degree in engineering or information technology
