Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maximizing operational performance by instilling a forward looking approach in supply chain delivery assurance, pro-actively identifying supply chain delivery gaps with the use of MRP systems (SAP / Supplier Portal), and leveraging the appropriate teams to drive throughput of product deliveries into the various business segments.

  • Integrating delivery assurance with the regional supplier development teams, and the appropriate commodity and procurement teams to ensure that systemic supplier deficiencies are well communicated and addressed across the supply chain organization.

  • Demonstrate attention to detail and a technical aptitude to understand & learn various manufacturing processes, and respective cycle times, to assess where total manufacturing leadtimes can be improved within the supply base.

  • Confidently presenting (on a daily basis with impromptu briefings) supply chain topics internally and externally with customers, while interacting with senior leadership at the UTAS and UTC levels.

  • The candidate must be able to work independently with minimal direction while leveraging his/her team of managers and individual contributors.

  • Participate in and/or lead various continuous improvement activities to improve the overall supply chain delivery, cost, and quality performance across the business.

  • Leveraging subject matter experts for help as well as work across functional lines within the company; patient and calm under pressure; able to effectively utilize RCCA for troubleshooting of design & manufacturing issues; and able to think outside the box to design processes for increased productivity across the company.

  • The role requires an understanding of Global logistics with a knowledge base that includes the basics of State and Commerce Department import/export compliance requirements.

  • Effectively manage all supplier / partner relationships within assigned scope, utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills, while ensuring the appropriate level of assertiveness is applied to achieve favorable outcomes for UTAS.

  • The individual must exhibit ethical business behaviors at all times.

* Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or other Business related field.

  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred.

* Experience/Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering/Supply Chain/Manufacturing/Program Management or related area with a continued proven track record of performance achievement and growth and increased level of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in operations and / or tactical supply chain (account management, expediting, purchasing)

  • Experience developing supplier relationships

  • Knowledge of supply chain management in the Aerospace organization

  • Project/program Management

  • Ability to lead in a collaborative team environment

  • Bias for action
