As a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op you will support the development and deployment of automation systems in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Duties may include mechanical design of robots and systems, control system design and implementation, computer/embedded systems programming and system verification testing.

This Co-Op shall be responsible for:

• Working with the engineering team to investigate and specify automation system solutions and equipment with lean manufacturing requirements

• Designing, implementing, and testing automation solutions to improve an existing process or new processes

• Utilizing knowledge of modeling software to create basic layouts of automation equipment and tooling

• Identifying opportunities for lean manufacturing

• Participating in design and team reviews with members of the engineering team

• Communicating status of work clearly providing visibility to supervisor and/or team members • Other duties as assigned

Qualification:

  • GPA of 3.0 or above is required

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering related field. Students studying Manufacturing and Robotics engineering disciplines are encouraged to apply.

  • Must have completed at least 30 credits of college coursework by September 2018.

Preferred Qualifications

• The successful candidate possesses strong communication and teaming skills, analytical thinking skills, results oriented and customer focus. The candidate will also need to be adaptable, a problem solver with organizational and prioritization skills.

• Basic MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

• Knowledge of CAD and programming languages such as Robot Studio is a decided plus

• Candidate should be comfortable exploring work tasks, seeking out answers, and working independently when necessary

Education:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering related field. Students studying Manufacturing and Robotics engineering disciplines are encouraged to apply.
