This position is for a recognized Systems Engineering master and thought leader. Sets project milestones and cost, and measures department achievement. Reviews strategic and technical leadership goals, and interfaces with all levels of the organization and external customers. Keeps abreast of developments in the engineering field. Acts as an internal consultant by making recommendations to organizational leadership to solve complex technical problems.
Serve as technical expert in the most important, complex, or difficult projects.
Recommends strategies for complex engineering systems over their life cycles.
Leads coordination of control engineering, industrial engineering, organizational studies, and project management.
Ensures that all likely aspects of a project or system are considered, and integrated into a whole.
Monitors budgets, cost, effectiveness, and reliability of activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and ensure that standards are met.
Researches, evaluates and recommends investments or changes in technology, resources, procedures, equipment, systems, or other assets to improve the quality of the organization’s systems products and services.
Provides expertise in the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and the generation of verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
Performs analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Considers and evaluates alternatives accounting for similar metrics.
Manages configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs architectural exploration.
Decomposes customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and generates verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
- US Citizenship is Required
- This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 12 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required.
Experience working in a very technical environment

Prior management experience
A Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical systems engineering
Prior aerospace experience
