Get onboard the UTC Aerospace Operations and Supply Chain team and play a part in managing our innovative products from inception to delivery. As a Supply Chain New Product Introduction Intern for the Engine Systems business unit located in Windsor Locks, CT. you will have the opportunity to scale your core operations skill-set to include cross functional leadership, solution based negotiating, cost management activities, strategic commodity coordination, and execution of key customer critical Entry into Service activities. NPI reads across all aspects of supply chain competencies providing an excellent proving ground for motivated individuals with interest in building a strong base within UTC's supply chain organizations.

Success in this role is defined by forging strong supplier relationships and contracts, taking ownership of the development process, and executing flawless program and organizational goals. In development supply chain, you will be expected to communicate to all levels of the organization, manage procurement activities through all phases of product development (proposal, preliminary design, final design, validation & verification, transition to production), and validate new program business case proposals. Additionally, the candidate will execute PO Placement activities while managing a diverse set of delivery and supplier challenges across engineered items and UTAS make LRU details.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing cost and LTA strategy related to new programs being developed; working with commodity group on execution plan for LTA across all commodities

  • Take new programs through the development life cycle while working in an Integrated Product Team structure with direct reports.

  • Responsible for project execution of development programs in terms of delivery, quality and design to cost targets (both procurement bill-of-material hardware and engineering deliverables).

  • Integrate Supply Management and leverage the Commodity Strategies to maximize the impact of new programs for cost reduction without compromise to quality.

  • Drive compliance to procurement procedures within the working team, and to develop and execute standard work within the Procurement for development programs up to and including transition to production.

  • Serve as a key participant in key, buying decisions and business case analysis.

  • Provide presentations on reocurring basis.

  • Facilitate new tasks, purchase order placements, requests for quotation, proposal support, trade studies, problem resolution, and supplier negotiations.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2-4+ years of Project Management experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or other related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A track record of managing plans to customer satisfaction.

  • Proven strong communication skills- both written and oral.

  • Cost sensitivity and business judgment with proven, bottom-line results.

  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings.

  • Proven ability in Microsoft Office Suite (writing documents in Word, creating and managing spreadsheets in Excel with macros, VLOOKUP, etc…, and navigating Outlook email)

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced work environment.

Education:

  • BS or BA in a Supply Chain, Operations, Project Management, Engineering, or other related study required.

  • Master's degree in related discipline is preferred.
