Primary Responsibilities:

  • The position supports the Mechanical Design group in Environmental, Engine & Electrical Systems.

  • The candidate will be responsible for all Design aspects on a range of pneumatic valve design configurations, provide assistance in the validation & qualification test activity program phase, and field & manufacturing support.

  • Candidate will be exposed to a wide variety of valve types and sizes, from high temperature pneumatic engine bleed valves made from corrosion resistant steels, to low temperature and low pressure electromechanical valves made from plastics.

  • For a new development program, the candidate will be responsible for developing design concepts, requirements compliance review, specifying requirements for engineered components, solid modeling and design layout creation, materials selection, structural & fluid dynamics and performance analysis.

  • The position will involve preparation of design presentations at internal and customer design reviews to demonstrate how the designs meet technical, produceability, weight and cost targets.

  • For the validation, flight test and production program phases, the Engineering candidate will provide analytical support for testing, review test plans and test results, and support investigation of problems to determine root cause and corrective action.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7 years of prior relevant experience with a University Degree or 5 years experience with an Advanced Degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a multi-discipline team.

  • CAD and finite element analysis knowledge, with Unigraphics exposure, ANSYS and FLUENT preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills, with the ability to apply these skills to customers and suppliers.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required

  • Master of Science preferred
